For information regarding pre-dental ASDA membership, please contact our pre-dental coordinator Saroj Saha, ssaha@umich.edu
The Pre-Dental Association is committed to helping prospective dental students throughout their undergraduate years at the University of Michigan. Our goal is to assist students of all ages and interest levels to better understand current oral health care issues, dental school admission processes, and dental school itself. Through volunteer activities, social outings, and bi-weekly meetings, each member also receives many opportunities to meet and network with Dental School professors and administrators, dental students, and fellow pre-dental students.
Pre -Dental Association members have been involved in many ASDA volunteer events such as Turners Trot, Give Kids a Smile, and Taft Clinic. Ever since ASDA extended membership to pre-dental students, many pre-dents have taken leadership roles in organizing events such as Crest Healthy Smiles and the ASDA Golf Outing. Pre-dental ASDA students have also greatly benefited from the Michigan Oral Health Coalition classes taught by dental students. During the four-week course, members were taught the essentials of dental assisting and some were then placed in local dental clinics throughout Michigan to volunteer during the summer.
